Comparison of the effects of combined neuraxial anesthesia and multicomponent low-flow inhalation anesthesia in the structure of perioperative anesthesia management in arthroscopic knee surgeries

Background. Arthroscopic knee surgery is one of the most common types surgeries in world. But optimal anesthesia management for this type orthopedic still debatable. The purpose study was to improve quality arthroscopic interventions on joint by introducing a personalized perioperative management. Materials and methods. One hundred forty-two patients aged 18–78 years, who underwent surgery, took part study. They were randomized into 2 groups according chosen patient. In first group (n1 = 82), individuals neuraxial combination with intravenous administration dexmedetomidine, second (n2 60) — multicomponent low-flow inhalation sevoflurane combined multimodal analgesia. Before operation, level preoperative stress assessed. During 24 hours after we have evaluated postoperative pain visual analogue scale, incidence nausea vomiting, overall patient’s satisfaction surgery. Results. did not differ significantly. had significant impact choice regarding anesthesia. Conclusions. Neuraxial general has advantages disadvantages. Decision-making method should be based wishes possible previous surgical experience.
